After First-at-LAS emails you the name of your Faculty Guide, plan to contact and meet with them within two weeks. If you do not follow-up with your Faculty Guide, we will put your name back in the database and connect you with a different Faculty Guide once one is available from your department. For help reaching out to your Faculty Guide, refer to the resources in the Student Mentee Resource website. There is an email template you can use for your first email.

Once you are connected to a Faculty Guide, your mentor will work with you in the Connect Program for one or two semesters. The timing will depend on the faculty’s availability. If your Faculty Guide can only participate for one semester and you wish to continue in the program, you can let First-at-LAS know and your name will go back in the database to connect you with a new Faculty Guide in your department.

You only have to submit your application once each academic year. If you wish to participate the following academic year, you will need to re-enroll.
