To make the most of resources, start by reflecting on your interests and what you hope to accomplish. Then you can identify relevant campus spaces to help you achieve your goals. Step 1: Reflect
Think about what you want to accomplish this year and during your time in college. Begin with these self-reflection questions:
- What motivated you to attend college?
- Are there skills or experiences you want to gain in college?
- What parts of college are you interested in learning more about?
- What are your strengths? Are there areas you’d like to improve?

Step 2: Refine
Connect ideas, interests, or needs to focus areas using our guide. Aim to identify at least two key areas that are most important for you to prioritize for the semester or year. Example focus areas:
- Academic Success
- Research Engagement
- Graduate and Professional Schools
- Career and Professional Development
- Campus Involvement and Community
- Wellness and Mental Health
